Flexpat was founded on the principle of ensuring that people can get the most out of their lives - both as employees and individuals. Our movement is about making life easier for people who work or want to work remotely.
As a community, we’re a social space, where people can exchange useful information and make lifelong friends from all over the world. You’ll find everything from online and offline events, job postings, online articles, video tutorials, and open forums.
Please make sure you read and follow our guidelines and refer to them whenever you are in doubt about how to act inside the community.
English is the official language of the Flexpat community — we don’t want language to be a reason to exclude anyone.
If you would like to meet and interact with members, you can submit a request to create a group on your language (include link)
Please use a real photo of yourself as a profile picture with your face clearly visible. Logos, memes or any other images will be removed.
Please represent yourself in an accurate manner.
Profiles using false information and duplicate profiles will be removed.
We’re a friendly place, so please remember to be nice and respectful of other members.
Flexpat is growing an extremely diverse community, with different cultures, religions, and languages. We do not accept sexist or racist behavior and will ban users who chose to insult others.
Whether a public event or a private meeting with another member, please remember you take this action at your own risk. We advise you to always meet at public, crowded places for the first time.
Get to know the other person and do your research first. Trust your instincts and use common sense in all interactions.
If you ever feel someone is acting inappropriately, please bring it to our attention immediately with as much information and evidence as possible and we will investigate the matter immediately.
You can contact us by clicking the ‘Support’ Button on the bottom right of the screen.
Do not post job ads in the forum. If you know about interesting remote companies, contact us and we can add them to the job posts.
Don’t spam/self-promote/promote products unless it is absolutely relevant in the context of a discussion and brings value to other community members.
Affiliate links or promo codes are not allowed.
Post relevant answers to questions. No random babbling please. Unless it’s within the Randomness channel of course ;)
Grammar is always somewhat troublesome - we have trouble with it too! But please just remember to try and make things as simple as possible, with no excessive punctuation or extra capital letters (caps lock).
Inappropriate language is, as mentioned, inappropriate and shouldn’t be used.
Remember, the Community is for you and created largely by you, we’re just the people facilitating awesome people getting to know one another.
If something strikes you as odd, or inappropriate please bring it to our attention immediately and we will look into the matter directly and take the appropriate action.
Please note, we can only monitor and take action on things that happen at the Flexpat Community, or things that happen at official Flexpat events. Hence, if someone redirects you to another platform or other means of communication, please be wary of this person.
To bring something to our attention, please click the ‘Support’ Button on the bottom right of the screen.
The Forum is a place for members to interact with every Flexpat on the planet.
Flexpat Groups are a place for members to come together based on a commonality or shared interest and passion. It’s a great to meet your fellow members, find information and make new friends!
We want to keep them both safe and ensure that they reach their full potential. So all of the above guidelines are also relevant here. As such, please note: Flexpat reserves the right to edit/delete if posts violate the above guidelines or are in any way inappropriate.
We reserve the right to take action against a member profile should their posts on the thread be excessively offensive to either other members or the platform as a whole.
